Alderman Harry Huntley files for 2025 race to retain seat on Annapolis City Council

After several rounds of questions from the Annapolis Democratic Central Committee — the body tasked by city code to choose Tierney’s replacement — seven of the 9 voting members agreed on Huntley. […]
Huntley resigned as the committee’s treasurer at the beginning of August to apply to fill the seat. Huntley had been a member of the central committee since 2021.
Six of eight council members, including Tierney and Mayor Gavin Buckley, neither of whom is seeking reelection, sent letters supporting Huntley. In addition to Buckley and Tierney, supporters included Democratic council members Brooks Schandelmeier, of Ward 5; Karma O’Neill, of Ward 2; DaJuan Gay, of Ward 6; Shelia Finlayson, of Ward 4; and Rob Savidge, of Ward 7.
